WILLIAM CROW aka Grizzlybear

William grew up in Brevard and since he can remember he has spent as much time climbing and hanging out in trees as possible.  After living in Europe for a bit, he made his move to Asheville.  He went on to attend Haywood College for Forestry Management.  In 2005, he graduated top of his class and began his career in tree management.  In 2007, William began work for Appalachian Arborists where he continued building his arboriculture knowledge.  In 2007, he also took the next step to achieve his ISA certification.  In 2008, William decided to go out on his own and founded Grizzlybear Arborcare.  Since then he's enjoyed developing lasting relationships with his clients and highly values having repeat customers.  It's been such a joy for him to see the properties he's worked on evolve and grow. 

William now lives in Oakhurst neighborhood with his wife and business partner, Vista, and kiddos Isaiah, Sam and Mazzy and pups, Zelda, Gizmo, Mango and Sylvester.  He still loves to spend his free time climbing and hanging out in trees. 

JOE LINVILLE : Project Manager

Joe is one of those rare birds who was born and grew up in Asheville as a fifth generation native. He has mountain biked every trail, hiked every trail, kayaked every river and climbed every rock in this region. Joe started climbing professionally as a foreman for Challenge Company building agility and zipline courses throughout the country. After a few years he transferred his skills to arboriculture by apprenticing with reputable Arborcare companies in the Asheville area. He then became a freelance contract climber and has been contracted by us at Grizzlybear for years as he is one of the most skilled and efficient climbers in the area. In early 2022 he decided to go full time as our Project Manager. Joe runs an incredibly safe and efficient job site as well as making sure that everyone is learning and improving always. We are extremely happy to have him as part of the Grizzlybear team.
